National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP)
Innovation, Incubation, and Startups are all trending concepts in today’s realm of technological advancements and ingenious discoveries. Many within the corporate landscape are now turning to college students to uncover their innovative talents, hoping that fresh ideas can surpass conventional approaches.
We, at SRIT, have actively embraced this approach over the past several years, leading to numerous instances where our students have garnered accolades from various opportunities that have crossed their paths.
Our commitment lies in ensuring that a maximum number of students are exposed to innovation and pre-incubation activities right from the early stages, fostering a pathway from ideation to innovation to market. We consistently work towards raising awareness among students, faculty, and staff regarding the significance of entrepreneurship and its role in career growth.
Students are encouraged to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset through experiential learning, engaging in
training for cognitive skills (such as design thinking, critical thinking, business planning, etc.), facilitated by the presence of first-generation local entrepreneurs or experts who address budding minds. Initiatives like idea and
innovation contests, hackathons, workshops, bootcamps, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, mentoring by academic and industry experts.
The introduction of real-life challenges, and the recognition and commendation of student and faculty entrepreneurs for their achievements all drive them towards this trajectory. The robust pool of mentors at SRIT provides essential guidance to students in effectively executing their innovative ideas and cultivating entrepreneurial skills.
