The Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute of Technology (SRIT), Andhra Pradesh, has been dedicated to the holistic development of its students since its inception. With the core philosophy of “student empowerment, industry collaboration, and continuous skill development” SRIT has been imparting comprehensive education in science and technology through its unique and flexible fractal curriculum.

To ensure the 360-degree development of its students, a cell is established and operates as the Training and Placement Cell. This cell provides career guidance to all students and facilitates excellent internship and placement opportunities. SRIT invites global industry and academic partners to collaborate, aiming to contribute positively to society.

The T&P Cell committed to ensuring the proper placement of students. It advises students on career options and provides up-to-date information on training and employment opportunities. The cell focuses on offering guidance and counselling and bringing students and potential employers together to achieve optimal placements, considering market conditions. It serves the interests of both students and employers by providing the necessary platform for successful interactions.

Equipping the students by imparting quality training to meet the expectations of the industry by striving continuously for excellence and promoting them with the ethical and human values.

Mission:

  1. To bridge the gap from campus to corporate.
  2. To enhance the employability of the students and provide career opportunities.
  3. To build confidence among the students and get ready for the job by preparing aptitude tests, presentations, communication skills and mock-interviews.
  4. To equip competence among the students through internships, certifications and pre-placement training.
  5. Aim to transform the students so as to meet the industry expectations in career building and in turn bring laurels to the parent institution.

Objectives:

  • Organize campus recruitment drives for prefinal-year / final-year students with reputable companies.
  • Facilitate companies in recruiting candidates according to their requirements. Raise awareness among students about various career options.
  • Enhance students’ employability by providing training in aptitude and soft skills.
  • Assist students in securing summer training and internship programs. Bridge the gap between industry and academia through: Seminars, guest lectures, conferences, corporate meets, and industrial visits.
  • Coordination with various departments to impart industry-relevant skills.

 Training and Placement Cell Activities

The T&P cell is one-stop centre for everything related to career. Help students in finding and applying for jobs, career guidance, resume reviews, interview preparation and more services to help students achieve career goals.

1. Mentoring session by Industry Experts:

Mentoring sessions conducted by industry experts provide valuable insights and guidance to students, helping them understand industry needs, trends, and professional expectations. The key aspects and benefits of such mentoring sessions are Industry Insights, Career Guidance, Real World Experience, Motivation and Inspiration, Understanding Industry Culture, Portfolio and Project Advice.

2. Company specific training:

Company-specific training is often provided to students to help them prepare for the recruitment processes of particular companies. This type of training focuses on understanding the exam patterns, types of questions, and interview processes specific to those companies. The key aspects and benefits of such training are Understanding Exam Patterns, Familiarization with Question Types, Interview Preparation and Mock Assessments

3. Resume Review:

Resume review services provide students with the chance to have their resumes assessed by professionals. This comprehensive review covers academic credentials, skills and technologies, internships, projects, certifications, and other crucial elements. The objective is to ensure that resumes showcase a well-rounded set of technical skills and experiences.

4. Boot Camps:

Boot Camps offer intensive, focused training on specific programming languages and tools within a relatively short period. This allows students to quickly gain practical skills and knowledge that can be applied directly to real-world projects. The key aspects and benefits of boot camps for students are Focused Learning, Practical, Hands-On Experience, Industry-Relevant Skills, Problem-Solving Techniques.

5. Top up courses:

Top-up courses can be seen as an extended version of bootcamps. They often delve into more advanced topics in programming languages and cover specialized areas that go beyond the basics. These courses are beneficial for students who have already completed foundational training and are looking to deepen their knowledge and expertise. By focusing on advanced topics, top-up courses help students prepare for the technical challenges they might face during campus placements and in their future careers.

6. Mock Interviews:

Mock Interviews with Faculty experts and Alumni serve as a crucial tool in preparing students for real-world job opportunities by simulating actual interview scenarios. They help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations, allowing students to refine their communication, problem-solving, and technical skills. By providing a realistic interview experience, mock sessions build confidence, reduce anxiety, and familiarize students with different interview formats such as one-on-one, panel, and group discussions.

 Placement Policy

The placement policy provides clear guidelines to students on the entire process, from registering for participation in campus placements to attending placement drives and securing job offers.

1. T&P Cell Registration:

The students who wish to participate in placement drives needs to register at the T&P cell before the specified deadline. No late entries will be entertained under any circumstances. The students with up to 5 active backlogs by the end of 5th Semester are allowed to register.

2. Pre-Placement Training:

T&P cell provide necessary pre-placement training for all the registered candidates which includes technical training, hackathons, assessments through coding platforms, mock interviews and mentoring sessions by industry experts.

3. Campus Recruitment Drives:

All the T&P cell registered students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment drives. Once a job notification is released, students who wish to participate in the drive are required to register for each drive.

4. Dream Offer:

The T&P cell will provide opportunities to all its registered students to secure one job at the first instance, and pursues a policy of “students can apply for the dream job if any organization offering the salary of 50% (1.5X) more than first job with a package of 10 LPA and below”. In addition, students are allowed to secure any number of jobs for a package of 10 LPA and above.

Placement Process

The Training and Placement Cell manages communication between recruiters and students, starting from inviting companies for recruitment to supporting students throughout the placement process until job offers are finalized.

  • Invitation:

T&P Cell sends invitation to companies along with institute information. Companies interested in recruitment will notify to T&P Cell.

  • Registration:

The Training and Placement officer share job description and eligibility criteria to all the T&P registered students. Interested students will register for participation in recruitment and database will be communicated to the recruiters.

  • Pre-Placement Talk:

Companies interested in recruitment can conduct pre-placement talks either online or offline. Pre-Placement Talks provide a platform to facilitate interaction between students and companies, so that both are able to find the best match according to their aspirations and requirements.

  • Recruitment Process:

Firstly, companies can conduct assessments for screening candidates and shortlist the candidates for either Group Discussion rounds or Personal Interview rounds depending on the organization’s recruitment policy. We welcome all the recruiters to conduct the process in hybrid mode (In Person or online).

  • Job Offer:

Once the final interview round is conducted, the company makes a final offer to the candidate. The offer should include the details such as job role, compensation package and other terms and conditions required by the candidate to make further decision. Post receiving the provisional offer letter, the student accepts the same.
